Co-convened by the Victoria and Albert Museum and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, the symposium "Prototype - Craft in the Future Tense" is being held at the University of Dundee Contemporary Arts on June 10th - 11th 2010.

An amazing line up of internationally renowned guest speakers will present a diverse range of perspectives concerned with innovation and ingenuity through prototyping.  Their talks will stimulate unusual conversations and debates to fully explore the radical and multiple ways that people from across disciplines are experimenting with and sharing ideas.

Speakers include: Michael Schrage, Business Innovator at MIT; Stuart Brown, Biomedical Engineer at the University of Dundee; Simon Starling, Turner Prize winning conceptual artist; Constance Adams, Space Architect, Houston; and Chicks on Speed, Musician, Artists and Innovators, Berlin.

"Prototype" is the University of Dundee's major contribution to Crafts Festival Scotland, a nationwide series of events over the summer of 2010 that aim to portray the range of skills and ideas inherent within craft and craftspeople in a new light.
