Funding business research and development is often prohibitively expensive. This event addressed schemes that provide research and development funding to small to medium-sized enterprises that we have not covered at previous workshops and have submission deadlines approaching this spring.
Sian Brereton from the Technology Strategy Board talked about the current funding calls, including the Creative Industries competition.
Funding oppotunities discussed at this workshop:

This competition is looking for proposals to develop applications that can be deployed across the digital content sector to extend market opportunities and promote the commercial exploitation of IP for content creators and rights holders. The competition is likely to be particularly relevant to businesses and practitioners in the following sectors: Advertising, computer games, content creators, digital content distribution, digital/new media, film, TV and radio, ICT and comms technology suppliers, music and publishing.
Calls for two other TSB competitions have been announced within Energy Generation and Supply, namely Carbon Abatement Technologies and Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Technologies. Sian also highlighted key features of each of these.
